Manal runs a volunteer pantry feeding 141 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 141 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 48% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Brooklyn market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $650
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $650
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,200
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
