I'm caring for my father, who's 80. After a heart attack Evgeny can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Evgeny desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Evgeny worked all of his life as a nurse, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $1,200 goes: • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $330 • Medication and prescriptions: $670 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $200 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
