Alyona was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in July. The surgeon at Saint Petersburg General Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $750 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Saint Petersburg General Hospital since July. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Alyona struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Alyona won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
