The electricity account is 4 months behind. Teresita received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on February unless $100 is paid. She had never been late before my partner leaving the household. Teresita called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $15 first, which isn't available. The household includes three children under ten, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
