I'm caring for my mother, who's 75. After worsening Parkinson's disease Oana can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Oana desperately wants to stay at home. I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Oana worked all of her life as a bus driver, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $2,100 goes: • Part-time carer (four months): $1,700 • Medication and prescriptions: $170 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $105 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $125 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
