Care for Marcos, 78: help cover a carer and medication in Guadalajara
Marcos can't afford the care He needs after a stroke last October; we're asking for $1,700.
🇲🇽 Jalisco, Mexico931 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 78. After a stroke last October Marcos can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Marcos desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Marcos worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Part-time carer (three months): $1,250
• Medication and prescriptions: $230
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $85
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $135
Thanks for reading all this.
