I'm caring for my mother, who's 83. After worsening Parkinson's disease Cynthia can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Cynthia desperately wants to stay at home. I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Cynthia worked all of her life as a bus driver, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $2,800 goes: • Part-time carer (six months): $2,100 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $220 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $480 Every share and every dollar helps.
