I'm caring for me, who's 78. After the death of her spouse Alyona can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Alyona desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Alyona worked all of her life as a shopkeeper, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $900 goes: • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $65 • Medication and prescriptions: $95 • Part-time carer (three months): $740 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
