A youth football pitch for the Freedom community hall: help our neighbors in Mumbai
A community-led a youth football pitch at the Freedom community hall that will serve 445 neighbors.
🇮🇳 India430 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 445 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $250
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $100
Thank you so much.

Updates from Amol
Thank you all. We're at 36% now ($163). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.
Small update. $70 so far, I made the first payment toward materials.

Keep going. Great idea, hope you get there. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
Sending strength, Amol. This could happen to any of us.
Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 33 people at work. God bless
