A youth football pitch for the Baobab vacant lot: help our neighbors in Mombasa
Volunteers in Mombasa are raising $650 for a youth football pitch at the Baobab vacant lot.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 256 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $650 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Materials: $510
• Tools hire and delivery: $85
