A youth football pitch for Acacia Park: help our neighbors in Stockholm
Volunteers in Stockholm are raising $1,950 for a youth football pitch at Acacia Park.
🇸🇪 Stockholm, Sweden1,544 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,950.
It will serve about 400 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Materials: $1,150
• Permits and inspections: $145
• Safety equipment and signage: $340
• Tools hire and delivery: $315

Wishing you peace, Freya. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Hope you get there. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Arlington.
Thinking of you, Freya. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Stockholm!
How is Freya doing now?

So sorry you're going through this, Freya. Hope this works out for you. All the best.
Wishing you peace, Freya. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 11 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
