A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Semarang
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $350 for materials.
🇮🇩 Indonesia875 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 126 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
• Materials: $300
• Safety equipment and signage: $20
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
