A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Lecce

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,600. It will serve about 348 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
