A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Hamilton
A community-led a youth football pitch at the old Union bus depot that will serve 599 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,950.
It will serve about 599 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

• Safety equipment and signage: $290
• Materials: $1,520

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. permits and inspections comes first ($140) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Appreciate you taking the time.
