Peshawar
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Acacia bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 467 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $210 • Permits and inspections: $35 • Safety equipment and signage: $20 • Tools hire and delivery: $35 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Eman

  • I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Peshawar.

    • I hope things turn around soon. After 25 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
