Mangaluru
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 539 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $260 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $35 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Take care, Neha. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
