A skate park for the Pioneer community hall: help our neighbors in São Paulo
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $1,000 for materials.
🇧🇷 Brazil502 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $190, and the remaining cost is $1,000.
It will serve about 254 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Materials: $780
• Permits and inspections: $90
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $85
I hope life is good to you.

Your post was clear and honest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Bacolod.
Take care, Miguel. Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
Sending good thoughts, Miguel. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Take care
