A skate park for Liberty Park: help our neighbors in Los Angeles
A community-led a skate park at Liberty Park that will serve 120 neighbors.
🇺🇸 United States524 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,100.
It will serve about 120 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,100 goes:
• Materials: $1,150
• Permits and inspections: $230
• Safety equipment and signage: $380
• Tools hire and delivery: $340
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Sending strength. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Los Angeles.
