A sensory garden for children with autism for the old Baobab bus depot: help our neighbors in Los Angeles
A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at the old Baobab bus depot that will serve 482 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,500.
It will serve about 482 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Materials: $2,500
• Permits and inspections: $160
• Safety equipment and signage: $470
• Tools hire and delivery: $370
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Take care, Cristina. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Medellín.
Keep going, Cristina. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Greetings from Rosario.
