We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $2,300 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,300. It will serve about 575 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,300 goes: • Materials: $1,550 • Permits and inspections: $220 • Safety equipment and signage: $350 • Tools hire and delivery: $180 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

        • Wishing you peace. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
