A playground for the old Sycamore bus depot: help our neighbors in Newcastle upon Tyne

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $3,450 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,450. It will serve about 373 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
