A community garden for Jacaranda Park: help our neighbors in Dwarka
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $550 for materials.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 292 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $430
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $50

Thank you all. We're at 17% now ($93). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for tools hire and delivery is now scheduled.

so sorry you're going through this, Shilpa. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Rooting for you, Shilpa. More neighborhoods should do this. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out.
