Heliopolis

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 181 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $360 • Permits and inspections: $55 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 If you're reading this, thank you.

Stay strong, Waleed. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.

Wishing you peace, Waleed. Shared this with my family. Wish I lived closer to Derry so I could bring a meal
