A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Ciudad de México
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $1,350 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $290, and the remaining cost is $1,350.
It will serve about 191 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Materials: $1,150
• Tools hire and delivery: $135
• Permits and inspections: $65
