A community fridge for Jacaranda Park: help our neighbors in Jakarta

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 597 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $150 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $50 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Permits and inspections: $55 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Gunawan
