Folake Chioma Fashola
Master of baking, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria
- Lagos Trades Guild
- 1978 to 2002
- English
I've worked in baking from 1978 to 2002. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 1,180 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 13 years later for another job.
More about Folake
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Folake: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
