Awino Zawadi Swai
Woodcarving and ceramics artist
- 🇰🇪 Mombasa, Mombasa, Kenya
- The Beacon Pottery
- Since 2014
- English, Swahili
I work mostly in woodcarving, sometimes ceramics. My first show was in 2014 at The Beacon Pottery, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
Most of my work is inspired by the sea. I run most mornings.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Awino
I've had 10 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.
