Zaid is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in social work at Cairo Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $700. The registrar has said Zaid can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Zaid has a distinction average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Zaid would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Zaid isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Cairo Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $700 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $430 • Final term tuition: $200 • Exam and lab fees: $40 • Textbooks and materials: $30 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Sawsan

Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless.

Take care. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
