Weekly meals for families facing hunger in Albuquerque
Shirley runs a volunteer pantry feeding 270 families; this fund restocks shelves for the winter.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 270 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 47% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Albuquerque market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,650
• Refrigeration and electricity: $400
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $850
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Best of luck, Shirley. Hope this works out for you. We're a small family in Madurai but we're thinking of you. All the best
Sending love, Shirley. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
hang in there. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Québec.
Stay strong. More neighborhoods should do this. After 14 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Keep going, Shirley. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
