Weekly meals for families and seniors in Tema

The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in Tema is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Tema
Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Thursday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 269 each week. Donations have dropped by about 48% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Tema market and keep every receipt. Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $400 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $165 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $130 • Baby formula and diapers: $60 • Refrigeration and electricity: $45 Thank you for reading my story.

Wishing you peace, Solomon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Campinas!
