The Community Pantry pantry in San Francisco is running low just as demand rises; $1,700 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Friday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 286 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Francisco market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $780
• Refrigeration and electricity: $330
• Baby formula and diapers: $590

More neighborhoods should do this. After 21 years in accounting I know how hard it is to ask for anything. All the best.
