Weekly meals for families and seniors in Los Angeles
Sophia runs a volunteer pantry feeding 199 families; this fund restocks shelves for the school holidays.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Thursday from the back of a community center. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 199 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Los Angeles market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $610
• Refrigeration and electricity: $170
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,520
Glad we found this place.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sophia.
Sure. The biggest one is baby formula and diapers, $610. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
Praying for you, Sophia. Great idea, hope you get there. Please keep us posted
sending strength, Sophia. Shared this with my family. I'll check back for the next update.
