Volcanic eruption in Jakarta Barat: help the families of Riverside Lane rebuild
The volcanic eruption damaged 84 homes in the families of Riverside Lane. We are raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.
🇮🇩 Jakarta Barat, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia1,051 views
The volcanic eruption hit the families of Riverside Lane on 26 August. My home was one of 84 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $440
• Clean water and purification supplies: $85
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $170
• Food parcels for displaced families: $270
• Tools and labor for repairs: $285
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

rooting for you, Kurniawan. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
So sorry you're going through this. More neighborhoods should do this. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
how is Kurniawan doing now?
Sending good thoughts, Kurniawan. Your post was clear and honest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Sending love. This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Adelaide so I could bring a meal.
Wishing you peace. More neighborhoods should do this. I'm in farming myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Thinking of Jakarta Barat.
rooting for you. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings
