Usha was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in May. The oncology team at Aurangabad University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Usha is 42, worked as a construction supervisor until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Aurangabad University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,550 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $95
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,100
• Scans and lab work: $140
• Household costs while unable to work: $215
