Union Park needs a rainwater harvesting system - Mariana's neighborhood project
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Union Park that will serve 412 neighbors.
🇧🇷 Salvador, Bahia, Brazil225 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,050.
It will serve about 412 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Materials: $890
• Permits and inspections: $85
• Safety equipment and signage: $75
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Wishing you peace, Mariana. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. God bless.
Stay strong, Mariana. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless
Good luck, Mariana. Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Salvador.
