Typhoon in Caloocan: help the Riverside neighborhood rebuild
The typhoon damaged 83 homes in the Riverside neighborhood. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.
🇵🇭 Metro Manila, Philippines1,007 views
The typhoon hit the Riverside neighborhood on 13 May. My home was one of 83 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $490
• Clean water and purification supplies: $105
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $210
• Food parcels for displaced families: $180
• Tools and labor for repairs: $315
Thanks for reading all this.

Hope things get better soon, Dennis. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Lagos donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Lagos.
Stay strong. Shared this with my family. After 19 years in customer support I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Love from Rio de Janeiro!
Good luck, Dennis. Hope this works out for you. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care
