The Sycamore vacant lot needs a playground - Mauricio's neighborhood project
A community-led a playground at the Sycamore vacant lot that will serve 217 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,350.
It will serve about 217 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Materials: $1,700
• Permits and inspections: $260
• Safety equipment and signage: $250
• Tools hire and delivery: $140
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
