The Rahimi family fled Myanmar - help them rebuild in Oakland
Help a family of 7 start their new life in Oakland: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Myanmar 10 months ago after the conflict closed our school and clinic. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Oakland. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in July.
I was a farmer in Myanmar, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,200
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $740
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $410
• Language classes and bus passes: $550
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $300
If you're reading this, thank you.

Thank you all. We're at 3% now ($80). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward language classes and bus passes. - Emilio

Thinking of you and your family, Emilio. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. God bless.
You're not alone, Emilio. Your post was clear and honest. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
Sending strength. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Casablanca
wishing you the best, Emilio. Shared this with my family. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
