The Petrenko family fled Ethiopia - help them rebuild in Albany
Help a family of 4 start their new life in Albany: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Ethiopia 9 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Albany. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was a farmer in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by the Albany Welcome Table charity, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $560
• Language classes and bus passes: $550
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $290
Thank you for reading my story.

Stay strong. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
Take care, Courtney. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
