The old Pioneer bus depot needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Alejandro's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $1,400 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Pioneer bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,400.
It will serve about 98 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Materials: $700
• Permits and inspections: $220
• Safety equipment and signage: $210
• Tools hire and delivery: $270
