The old Lotus bus depot needs a playground - Özlem's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $950 for materials.
Anywhere in the world2,203 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Lotus bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $950.
It will serve about 252 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $950 goes:
• Materials: $660
• Permits and inspections: $105
• Safety equipment and signage: $115
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
I hope life is good to you.

Best of luck, Özlem. This could happen to any of us.
Thinking of you, Özlem. I hope things turn around soon. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. God bless.
Wishing you peace, Özlem. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I have a 16 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
