The old Acacia bus depot needs a community garden - Kateryna's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Kazan are raising $950 for a community garden at the old Acacia bus depot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Acacia bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $950.
It will serve about 447 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $950 goes:
• Materials: $780
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $125
Thanks for being kind about this.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Kateryna?
Thank you. If you're in Kazan I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.
Sending good thoughts, Kateryna. Great idea, hope you get there. Please keep us posted.
Your post was clear and honest. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings!
