The Mohammadi family fled Myanmar - help them rebuild in Oakland
Help a family of 5 start their new life in Oakland: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Myanmar 8 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Oakland. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was a mechanic in Myanmar, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $4,800 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $2,550
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $860
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,390
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
