The Cedar vacant lot needs a rainwater harvesting system - Tamanna's neighborhood project
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at the Cedar vacant lot that will serve 126 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $60, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 126 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $650 goes:
• Materials: $530
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
• Permits and inspections: $45
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Take care, Tamanna. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I'll check back for the next update. All the best
Wishing you peace, Tamanna. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Kingston.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tamanna.
Sure. The biggest one is materials, $530. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Let me know if you want more detail.
Hope things get better soon. Hope you get there. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
Great idea, hope you get there. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Pune!
wishing you peace. I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Dar es Salaam.
This could happen to any of us. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Thinking of Pune.
keep going. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Thinking of you, Tamanna. This could happen to any of us. Take care.
