The Bakr family fled Somalia - help them rebuild in Leicester
Help a family of 5 start their new life in Leicester: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Somalia 6 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Leicester. We're a family of seven and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was a farmer in Somalia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $3,650 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,650
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $810
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $610
• Language classes and bus passes: $330
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $250
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

rooting for you. Hope this works out for you. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money
Good luck, Addison. Shared it with a few friends. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Greetings from Casablanca.
Keep going, Addison. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 27 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Nairobi.
