For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 157 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $330 • Permits and inspections: $35 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 • Tools hire and delivery: $65 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Rakesh

Updates from Rakesh

Quick update: $85 raised so far (17%). the plan for permits and inspections is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($75 in total) the plan for tools hire and delivery is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
