Surgery fund for Wagner: emergency hernia repair in Rio de Janeiro
After a herniated spinal disc, Wagner was cleared for emergency hernia repair, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Wagner was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at Rio de Janeiro General Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,500 short.
my son has been in and out of Rio de Janeiro General Hospital since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Wagner struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Wagner won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
