Teresa was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in December. The surgeon at Coyoacán General Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,250, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $2,450 short.
my mother has been in and out of Coyoacán General Hospital since December. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Teresa struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Teresa won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
