Kinondoni
Mary was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in November. The surgeon at Kinondoni Orthopedic Institute recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,200, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $850 short. my mother has been in and out of Kinondoni Orthopedic Institute since November. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,200 is more than we can find. While we wait, Mary struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Mary won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $850 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $50 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $390 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $40 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $370 Thank you so much.

Shared this with my family. After 19 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
