Surgery fund for Johanna: cataract surgery in Södertälje
A scheduled cataract surgery in November is out of reach without help covering $4,250 of the cost.

In August I was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes. My surgeon at Södertälje Community Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $6,000, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $4,250 short.
Doctors at Södertälje Community Hospital told me severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without cataract surgery. I work as a call-centre agent, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $6,000 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a call-centre agent have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to climb stairs during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $4,250 goes:
• Travel and lodging for the family: $180
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $2,250
• Physiotherapy sessions: $770
• Post-operative medication: $400
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $650
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Stay strong, Johanna. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Dresden donated after I showed her your page. God bless
Stay strong, Johanna. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
